Saturday 25 November cancelled. All tickets transferred to Sunday 26th.
The Wings Over Wairarapa board have made the difficult decision to postpone Saturday 25th until Sunday 26 November.
Wings Over Wairarapa Chair, Ron Mark says it wasn’t an easy decision to make given the level of organisation involved in preparing for a Saturday’s display.
“The board and management team has been reviewing the weather forecast. Our Airside Manager and Display Director have been constantly evaluating the situation, and liaising with Metservice and the aviators. The wind conditions this morning has meant aircraft couldn't land in Masterton safely, and those that are here are unable to fly due to crosswind issues. As such, we cannot go ahead today but we are on for tomorrow.”
Mark says the team have worked tirelessly to bring this incredible programme together, and are disappointed that we’ve lost Saturday but we’re throwing everything we can at giving you the best show possible on Sunday 26 November.
"Everyone was so excited to see the bi-annual air festival return and the Wairarapa community has been great in rallying support. The upside is that Fridays Take Flight was a massive success with international aeronautical companies pledging to return in 2025. Seeing so many young people and teachers thrilled and enjoying the Take Flight programme was an absolute joy and gives us heart to continue this amazingly unique education programme for young people seeking careers in the aviation and aerospace industries.”
“All Saturday tickets will be honoured on Sunday. If you just can’t make Sunday look online for refund details. Looking forward to seeing you all here tomorrow. We have an incredible lineup for you and we look forward to serving you at Hood Aerodrome.”
